Brenda Dulaney Hastings, 75, of Morganton, NC went to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, June 22, 2025. She was born on May 5, 1950 in Yancey County to the late Claude Dulaney and Ruth Hughes Thomas. She retired from Carolina Shoe after 21 years. Brenda was the hardest working person one would ever meet. Her family, children, and grandkids were her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry E. Hastings; grandson, Cory Lewis; an infant daughter.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Lewis (Teresa) and Mike Hastings (Ann); step-son, Eric Hastings; grandchildren, Cassie Lewis, Nathan and Miles Hastings, and Katie Mitchell; brother, Jerry Dulaney (Freda); sister, Peggy Hart (Marty).
The family will receive friends from 11am-12 noon on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home . The funeral will begin at 12 noon in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Phillip Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Sunshine Church Cemetery in Bostic, NC.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
