Bonnie P. Blinson, 84, of Glen Alpine, NC, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023. Born on February 16, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Ida Nell Payne. Bonnie was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and loved singing in the choir. She also loved cooking, red roses and feeding hummingbirds. Mrs. Blinson worked for Burke County Public Schools for over 25 years.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 63 years, David Sherrill Blinson; daughters, Jannell Blinson Self (Junior) and Sherri Blinson Smith (Brian); grandchildren, Maleah Young (Jake), Shelby Ramsey, Ian Smith, Payne Smith; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Dax, Keraghen and Spencer; brother, John Payne (Phyllis); sister, Jeanette Payne Edminston (William); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lauren Ramsey.

The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. The service will begin at 12pm in the church with Revs. Brian Buckner and Jim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church or to Samaritan’s Purse.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dear Cousins, so sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs Blinson left such special a place in so many hearts over her years here on earth. My family among them.
