Bonnie McGee Rodney, 89, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, October 18, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on January 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John McGee and Lockee Chapman McGee. Bonnie was raised in the Baptist faith and retired from Valdese Manufacturing.
Mrs. Rodney is survived by her daughter, Vicki McGee Farmer of Hickory, NC; grandson, Kelly Walsh,; granddaughters, Gwen Hargett and her husband, Scott, Pamela Terry and her husband, Rick, and Elizabeth Brown and her husband, Joe; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Ado Rodney; a son, Jimmie Allen Walsh; a grandson, Robert Wayne Farmer; seven brothers; and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 6:30 p.m., Monday (today), October 19, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home at 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2015 with the Rev. Jerry Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Nebo.
