Bonnie Boyles King, 93, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2019.  Born in Gaston County, NC on July 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Carmie Boyles and Clyda Ward Boyles.  Bonnie was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church on Bethel Road.  She was a long-time textile worker and then owned and operating King’s Cake Decorating and Craft Supplies.  She enjoyed baking and crafting, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Bonnie is survived by her son, James Gerald King (Debbie); daughter, Paulette Pearson; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul King; and sister, Janell Carpenter.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Randolph officiating.  The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.  At other times the family will be at the home of Paulette K. Pearson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
