Bobby Patton, 91, of Morganton, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Born in Burke County, NC on April 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Robert Louis Patton and Mary Lucille Sisk Patton.
Bobby was a lifelong member of Zion Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
He owned and operated Patton Major Appliance Repair and loved to cook and garden.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Keith Patton (Susan); daughter, Lisa Patton (Charles Holtzclaw); grandchildren, Lauren, John Robert, Abby, Megan, and Mara; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Ben Patton (Sue), Roger Patton (Pansy), and David Patton (Maxine); sisters, Carada Hood (John David) and Priscilla Schoenen (Bill); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Louise Powell Patton; brother, Phillip Patton; and sister, Evelyn Beck.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Zion Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Keith Rose and Rev. Dr. Steve Parker officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I will always remember Mr. Bob and Mabel Patton. Good friends, and am thankful I was their choir director at Zion, a special church to me. Mostly, appreciate their son Keith and wife, Susan. No better friends than Bob and Mabel. God Love. Sue Cozort.
