Bobby James Goins, 81, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, April 3, 2026.
Born in Cleveland County, NC on March 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Goins and Pauline Smith Goins.
Bobby was a proud veteran of the US Army, having been stationed in Germany, and he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the state of North Carolina. He loved NASCAR and woodworking, and he had an amazing coin collection. He had a green thumb and was an exceptional gardener. Bobby absolutely adored his wife, Peggy, of 32 years and cared for her continuously until her passing. He accepted and loved all the family he gained with his marriage.
Those left to cherish his memory include his step-children, David Marshall, Sr. (Jenny), Dennis Marshall (LaRue), and Cheryl Rodriguez; Special step-granddaughter, Summer Knight; step-grandchildren, David Marshall, Jr., Graham Patterson, Audrey Patterson, McKenzie Marshall, Renee Bowman, April Staley, and Tori Bolding; special great-granddaughter, Serenity Wells; fifteen other great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert Eugene Goins, Roy Lee Goins, Thomas Goins, Roger Goins, Ricky Goins, Patsy Reep, Judy Stephens, and Debbie Willix; and faithful friends, Nancy Ross and Larry Bryant.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Cline Goins; and siblings, Betty Parker and Teddy Goins.
No services are planned at this time.

So sorry to hear of Bobby's passing...Condolences to the family. Bobby, you are now together with Peggy. May you both are laying in the Lords hands together. Rest easy my friend. You will be missed. We had some good times/talks with Bobby and Peggy. They both hold a special spot in our hearts. To the family, always remember the love they had for you all.
