Bobby “Bob” Johnson

Bobby “Bob” Johnson, 87, of Bostic, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

Born in Cleveland County, NC on May 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Thad Johnson and Madge Richards Johnson.

Bob was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and worked as a truck driver for 30 years for Overnight Transport. He was a Seventh Degree Black Belt in Karate. He loved everyone, especially his kids, grandkids, and “Blue Shaboo.”.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Anita Smith Johnson; children, Chris Johnson, Michael Johnson (DeLana), Angie Crawford (Bryan), Casey Hill (Archie), Amber Belton, and Storm Johnson; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Faulkenberry.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by four brothers, Roger, Larry, Dwight, and Ed Johnson; and two sisters, Carolyn Johnson and Shirley Stroupe.

The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Golden Valley Missionary Methodist Church Cemetery in Bostic with Rev. Robert Eng officiating. Military honors will be provided by the NC National Guard.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
