Billy Gregory, 70, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Born in Madison County, NC on October 31, 1944, he was the son of the late Ardell Ruby Gregory. Billy was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. A soft-spoken man, Mr. Gregory was a retired drug and alcohol counselor. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Billy is survived by his sons, Gary E. Gregory and his wife, Dawn, of Morganton, Danny W. Gregory of Columbia, TN, Brian C. Gregory and his wife, Rian, of Morganton, Melissa Gregory of North Dakota; grandchildren, Kimberly Mellon, Mark Gregory, Brittany Mellon, Briana Gregory, Ethan Gregory, and Austin Gregory; siblings, Iris Eggers and her husband, Danny, of Lincolnton, NC, and James Cordell and his wife, Karen, of Hickory, NC; and his beloved canine companions, Lance, Cupcake, and Lucy.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Newman Gregory.
The memorial service for both Billy and Dorothy Gregory will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Walker Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Carr officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force. The family will greet friends following the service.
The family asks that you wear bright colors as this is a celebration of Billy’s life.
