Bill K. Mull

Bill K. Mull, 87 of Drexel, NC passed away, Monday, July 18, 2022. Born on September 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Foster and Hazel Mull. Bill was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He loved to hunt and play golf. Bill was a US Army Veteran serving in Germany. He taught at Oak Hill High School where he was also the football coach. After teaching, Bill worked at Drexel Knitting, Dan River Knitting, and then retired from Speas Insurance Company. He was a member of the Morganton Moose Lodge where he achieved the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.

Bill is survived by his son, K. Michael Mull (Kim McGimsey-Mull); daughter, Kaye Lail (Greg); grandchildren, Alex Mull, Zach Lail (Summer) and Ethan Lail; sister, Mickey Cook.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Benfield Mull; brother, Rondal B. Mull.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1pm, Friday, August 5, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:30pm, at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Tim Hodge officiating.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the Springs of Catawba and Hospice of Charlotte for their compassionate care of Mr. Mull.
