Bill Hubbard, 88, died Monday, January 2, 2017. He was a son of the late Raymond and Mamie Hubbard. Bill was a member of Summit Community Church (Calvary Baptist Church) and was also a member of the Choraleers. He was a salesman for Electrolux Vacuum Cleaners for many years. He was also an insurance salesman and funeral assistant at Sossoman Funeral Home. Bill was a member of the Morganton Civitan Club and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are his sons, Steven Allen Hubbard and wife, Diane, and Randy Hubbard, all of Morganton; granddaughters, Stephanie Dutton and Amber Halliburton; great-grandchildren, Alera Hager, Kaylee Dutton, Emma Halliburton, and Coleman Halliburton; brothers, Joe Hubbard of Mt. Holly, NC and Charlie Hubbard of Valdese, NC; and a sister, Betty Sue Burns of Hildebran, NC.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Haynes Hubbard; and 4 brothers.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Summit Community Church. The funeral will be held at 2pm in the church with the Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
