Beulah Mae Chapman, 83, of Connelly Springs, NC, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023.

Born in Burke County, NC on February 12, 1940, she is the daughter of the late Pinkney Chapman and Bessie Mae Goins Chapman.

Beulah was a hard-working lady who believed if you wanted something, you had to work hard for it. She was employed as a winder at Burke Mills for 52 years. Mrs. Chapman enjoyed fishing, flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her Pop.

Beulah is survived by her husband, Garland Chapman; son, Lamar Chapman; daughter, Beverly Pettry (Billy); grandchildren, Heather Goode (Jonathan), Kristina Hoops (James), Izzie Chapman, Ben Chapman, and Jewels McFarland; sisters, Juanita Carswell (Shub), Merita Jenkins, and Carolyn Chapman (Junior); and countless nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randy Clark officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Beulah always was the same every time you saw her. Always friendly with a smile on her face and I loved to see her up there singing. If there's a fishing spot in Heaven she has caught supper.

Growing up in the South Mountains with a grandmother that ran a store everyone was your neighbor, people just knew you and their faces become part of your childhood, whether you were close to them or not, they are still part of your memories and Beulah was one of those you could never forget❤️she will be greatly forever missed. I hate to hear this, I am so so sorry. I dearly loved Beulah Mae, she was the same everytime you met her. She was such a wonderful person, loved sitting beside her in the choir, she was a mess, so fun loving, she would always make you smile/laugh. I know for a fact she is with her Lord and Savior. Miss you and will always think highly of you my friend.
