Betty Tilley Church, 82, of Morganton, NC, joined her husband in eternity on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

Born in Caldwell County, NC on April 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Effie Mae Tilley.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a compassionate woman and was always willing to extend a hand. She was an outgoing person and never met a stranger. Betty worked in manufacturing in Valdese for over 50 years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Kenneth Lee Church (Patti); daughter, Deborah Johnston (Joe); granddaughter, Anna Marie Faso (Anthony); great-grandchildren, Arlo and Aspen; sister, Shirley Robbins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Paul Church; and two brothers, Bill and Sam Tilley.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2026 at Burke Memorial Park.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
