Betty Sue Franklin Brendle, 90, of Drexel, NC was given her heavenly wings on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on May 23, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Edd Franklin and Willie Chapman Franklin.  Betty was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was an active member of the United Methodist Women Society.  She was a member of the Lovelady Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Brendle is survived by her sons, Jimmy (Sydney) Brendle of Charlotte, NC, Kevin (Connie) Brendle of Drexel, Warren (Sarah) Brendle of Holly Springs, NC, and Darren Brendle of Morganton; daughter, Annette (Jim) King of Valdese, NC; 8 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Brendle; and 5 siblings, Lena Mosteller, Lorina Wiggins, Lavaughn Weatherman, Margaret McCall, and J. D. Franklin.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Christ United Methodist Church.  The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Cindy Wechter, Rev. James King, and Chaplain Laura Roach officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
