Betty Sue Black

Betty Sue Black, 81 of Morganton, NC passed away, Friday, February 4, 2022. Born on February 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Wilma Lanning. Betty was a lifelong Tar Heel Basketball and Carolina Panther Football fan. She was a fashionable lady.

Betty is survived by her sons, Bryan Black (Marla), Jason Black (Melissa); grandchildren, Sara Moses (Josh), Catherine Hartsell (Marcus) Ashton Black, and Mason Black; sister, Margaret Branch; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Eugene Black.

The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm, Monday, February 7, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 3pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Dr. Thomas A. Bland Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
