Betty Sue Baker Ricketts, 82, of Nebo, NC died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at her home. She was born in McDowell County on June 23, 1934 to the late Howard Baker and Ada Hefner Baker. She was a graduate of Glenwood High School and a retired employee of Broyhill Furniture Company and of Western Steer Steakhouse, both in Marion. She was dearly loved by her family and never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Ricketts; daughter, Teresa Ricketts Long; brothers, Carl Ray Baker, Gerald Baker and Harry Baker; sisters, Gloria Jean Bishop and Myrtle Devue Miller.
She is survived by her brothers, Robert Baker, Michael Baker and wife, Tonya, both of Nebo; sisters, Shirley Sisk, Mable Burkhart and husband, David and Sybil McNeely, all of Nebo; a large number of nephews and nieces. She loved all her animals.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 5 pm, Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The service will follow at 5 pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.
