Betty Reece, 87, of Glen Alpine, NC, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Born in Burke County, NC on June 18, 1937, she was the daughter of the late J.A. Ross and Lula Belle Puett Ross. Betty was a graduate of Glen Alpine High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Glen Alpine. She enjoyed shopping, flowers, traveling, and eating at AJs Steakhouse.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Thomas Michael Reece (Linda), Johnny Keith Reece (Danyll Frosty), and Howard Scotty Reece (Tracy); grandchildren, Tyler Reece (Lauren), Stacie Kaufman (Troy), Cassi Milam, and Paige Wooten (Justin); great-grandchildren, Bradlee, Lily, Maddy, and Abby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Reece; grandson, Howard Scotty Reece, Jr.; and siblings, Albert, Martha Nell, Ben, Inez, and Clyde.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Glen Alpine. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the church with Rev. John Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
