Betty Jean Dale Lingafelt

Betty Jean Dale Lingafelt, 90, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Born in Burke County, NC on August 8, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Horace R. Dale and Faye Bonnie McGee Dale.

Betty was a lifelong member of Burkemont Baptist Church for many years, and she enjoyed teaching the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class. She also served as a member of the Care Team and a greeter. Betty worked at Artcraft Press for around 49 years. She loved and was loved by all who knew her, and she loved her Lord and Savior.

Those left to cherish her memory include a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Frank “Deb” Delbert Lingafelt; and six brothers, Justus A. Dale, Cohen R. Dale, Granvelee Dale, Nick N. Dale and Wife, Bennie Lois, Dewey D. Dale, and Russell Wayne Dale.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Amorem Hospice.
