Betty Jane Clarke Throneburg, 91, of Morganton, NC passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at the Shaire Center. She was born on November 14, 1929 to the late George Leslie Clarke and Katie Epley Clarke. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. She helped her husband, Claude, run Piedmont Service Station. Betty was a loving person who loved to take care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Claude Throneburg; brothers, Aaron Lee Clarke, William Jackson Clarke and James Phifer Clarke.
Betty is survived by her sons, Kenneth C. Throneburg (Candy) and David Throneburg; daughters, Roxann Brown (Jack) and Mary Frances White (Keith); granddaughters, Katie Throneburg Leeper (Chan), Callie Throneburg and Mollie Throneburg; great-grandson, Hampton Leeper; great-granddaughter Cora Leeper; sisters, Katherine Bess (Gene) and Dottie Craig; sisters-in-law, Martha Clarke and Faye Throneburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Betty will lie-in-state from 2:00pm-4:00pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A private graveside service for the family will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Brian Rainbow officiating. The service will be livestreamed on Sossoman Funeral Home Facebook page.
