Betty Goins, 72, of Morganton, NC passed away, Monday, June 19, 2023. Born on March 24, 1951, she was the daughter of the late David and Hester Chapman. Betty loved being with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching wrestling.
Betty is survived by her husband of 56 years, Junior Goins; daughters, Marie Burleson (David), Patricia Marshall (Tony), Shannon Perez, Wendy Goins (Jose); grandchildren, Jacob Burleson, Elizabeth Stamey, Ashley Dunn, Brandon Goins, Timothy Perez, Isaac Perez, Alex Goins, Neveah Goins, Joseph Goins; great-grandchildren, Lilly Addison Davis, Sophia Davis, Easton Conway Stamey; sisters, Sally Walker and Elgie Franklin.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her son, Johnny Goins; brother, Julius Chapman; sister, Minnie Thomlinson.
The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
