With the saddest of hearts, our “Moma,” Bessie Maloney, went to her eternal home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 25, 2021 after a period of declining health.  She was truly one of a kind, and to know her was to love her.  She never met a stranger, and she had a love for people that was like no other. She taught her family many things including love, respect, morals, to be kind, to stay strong and always pray about everything. Her home was always open, and her front porch was a meeting place for anyone who just needed somewhere to go.  You better believe she was going to feed you, and most of all, she was going to love you unconditionally.  She would always say a special prayer for you whether you knew it or not. Bessie loved her family more than anything in this world and lived her life loving God and walking by faith daily.  We were truly blessed to have her as long as we did, but God needed her more.

Bessie was proceeded in death by her parents, Will and Willie Branch; husband, James Andrew Maloney; eldest son, Ray Branch Maloney; and granddaughter, Heather Norman.

She is survived by her children, Larry Maloney (fiancée Roberta Lindley), Janet Norman, Randy Maloney, Sharon Maloney, Sandy Wilhide (Bart), Dawn Mull (fiancé Bobby Foster); grandchildren, Michelle Stancil, Billy Branch, Ronnie Maloney, Shawn Maloney, Tabitha Maloney, Tera Vaughn, Tonya Norman, Jessica Norman, Brian Wilhide, Brittany Wilhide, Lily Epley, Bryson Foster, and numerous beloved great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

Although life will not be the same here on earth without her, glory to God we know and find peace in knowing that Bessie is resting in the arms of our Savior and singing and praising Him.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8pm, Friday, August 6, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Paul White officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Alpine Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Rest easy our sweet angel, for you are already missed.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
