Bernard “Bernie” Pierce, 79, of Morganton, NC passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025. He was born on September 14, 1946 in Michigan to the late Bernard C. Pierce and Dorothy Baker Pierce. He was the Plant Chairman for two forging plants at Ford Motor Company where he was known for being a fierce leader and a great friend. Bernie loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing golf and was always ready to help others including his friends and neighbors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Pierce; brother, Mick Pierce.
Bernie is survived by his wife of fifty years, Joyce Ellison Pierce; daughters, Kellie Wasielewski (Jason), Deanna Burroughs (Alan), and Amber Pierce; grandchildren, Kassie Clymer (Brett), Hailey Ellis (Joseph), Jayme Wasielewski, Tyler Burroughs (Anna), Caden Bailey, Easton Schulz, and Brittany Oaks (Daniel); seven great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip Pierce; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
No services are planned.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
