Berlie Beshears Harris

Berlie Beshears Harris, 87, of Grace Heights went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 11, 2008 following an extended illness. She was born in Wilkes County, NC on August 3, 1920 and was a daughter of the late Lee Cornette and Carry Phillips Cornette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Harris; her first husband, Zeb Beshears; three brothers; and four sisters. Mrs. Harris was a former secretary at Dixie Oil Company and Breeden Poultry, and she was raised in the Baptist faith.She is survived by a son, Lowman Beshears and his wife, Louise; a grandson, Cass Beshears and his wife, Shirley; great-grandchild, Cassie Beshears; great-great-grandchild, Kaidance Leonhardt, all of Morganton; a sister in Virginia; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Victory Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny McCarty officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
