Belle Boyd Lane Stamey, 73, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, December 26, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on December 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Leroy Lane and Sadie Irene Pearson Lane.  Belle was one of the first employees of Leviton Southern Devices and worked there for many years.  She was a lover of nature, music, photography, and animals like her little dog, Buzzie.  Her greatest love was her family.  Her many friends know how much she loved to talk and how she never met a stranger.

Belle is survived by her daughter, Derrie “Deedee” Lambert and her husband, Alan, of Morganton; grandchildren, Matthew Lambert and his wife, Ashley, and Spencer Lambert; a great-grandson, Lane Lambert; siblings, Etta Lane, Stephen Lane, Peggy Lane and her husband, Kevin Guertin, Louise Hope and her husband, Robert, Margaret Lane and her husband, Billy Locker, and Ruth Lane and her husband, Joe Kretchmer; and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Belle was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lane.

The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 p.m., today (Monday, Dec. 28) at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Chaplain Susan Cronk officiating.
