Barry D. Pearson, 55, of Valdese, NC passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 due to a motor vehicle accident. Born in Burke County, NC on January 26, 1968, he was a son of Gail Pearson and the late Mike Pearson. Barry was a handyman and would help anyone that needed it. He loved fishing, hunting, shooting pool, Nascar, riding his horse and his dog CoCo. Barry was a loving son, father, and pappy.

In addition to his mother, Barry is survived by his sons, Heath Pearson (Sara) and Austin Pearson (Kara); granddaughter, Caroline Pearson; brother; Joey Pearson; and wife, Tammy Pearson.

Barry was preceded in death by his father, Mike Pearson; grandparents, Jirl and Vera Helms, Grant and Juanita Pearson; and an uncle, Byron Pearson.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Burke County Friends for Animals.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
