Arcoma “Connie” Gragg Poovey, 86, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Born June 19, 1928 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Hardin Columbus Gragg and Viola Mae Gragg. Connie attended Arneys Fairview United Methodist Church. For many years, she was employed at Duke Power and later went to work at Eckerd Drugs.
Connie is survived by brothers, Jack Gragg, Doyle Gragg and wife, Vineola, and Jerry Gragg and wife, Nancy, all of Morganton; sisters, Louise Gragg of Morganton and Elaine Henderson of Columbia, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Tommy Milholen and Jerry P. Poovey; brothers, Maurice and Hardin Gragg; and a sister, Vernice Penley.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 8, 2015 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9 at Arneys Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating.
