Anne Carroll Walker Weldon, 80, of Hickory, NC and formerly of Morganton, died Sunday, March 23, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on June 27, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Theodore Walker and Mable Garrison Walker. Anne was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and taught elementary school at Hickory city schools.
Anne is survived by her son, Andrew Weldon and his wife, Angela, of Lake Worth, FL; grandchildren, Chase and Alyssa Weldon; and three nieces, Kim Marsh, DeLaine McAlpine, and Rama Dale.In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby G. Walker; and a sister, Sara Walker Dale.The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Hopewell Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Emory officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 -1:00 p.m. prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church, 1112 Hopewell Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
