It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Angela Vance Holman, who left us on July 1, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on November 26, 1950 in Burke County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Leon Phillip Vance, Sr and Joy Fender Vance. Angie lived a life full of love, laughter, and kindness. She enjoyed playing pinochle, baking coconut cakes, traveling (especially to Disney World), reading her bible, and celebrating Christmas. She touched the lives of everyone she met with warmth, generosity, and her unique sense of humor. Angie was a wonderful caregiver and those she cared for were treated like family.
Angie is survived by a large extended family, her brothers, Phillip Vance (Claudia), Rucker Vance (Tina), and Bo Vance (Kathryn); sister, Melody Coffey (Gary); step-daughters, Mary Beth Rountree (William) and Shannon Pritchard; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 4 nieces, 4 nephews; 4 great-nieces, and 8 great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by her son, Zavia Danté Tate.
Angie’s memory will forever be cherished by her family as well as countless friends who were fortunate enough to know her. We invite all who knew and loved Angie to join us in remembering her life and the joy she brought to those around her.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, July 7, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amorem Hospice in Valdese, NC (amoremsupport.org/donate), or you may contribute a bush or perennial for her memorial garden.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
