Andi Gitlestad Tellefsen, 90, of Morganton flew away on angel wings to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 22, 2017. She passed away peacefully in her home after a brief decline. Born on July 7, 1927 in Norway, she was the daughter of the late Renart and Gesena Gitlestad.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Salve Tellefesen.
Andi and Salve moved to America in 1949 as newlyweds.
Mrs. Tellefsen loved working as a CNA and was retired from Broughton Hospital. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many others.
Andi is survived by 6 children, John and Torrey Tellefsen of the home, Ingrid Longo, Linda Moretz, and George Tellefsen, all of Morganton, and Randi Taylor of Canada; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother in Norway.
In accordance with Andi’s wishes, she will be buried beside her husband at Burke Memorial Park in a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the people of Burke Hospice for the kindness and care shown to their loved one.
