Amanda Lynn Swink, 30 of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Born in Burke County, NC on May 25, 1986, she was the daughter of Michael Leon Swink and Cynthia Ford Patton. She was a graduate of Johnson Wells University and was a gifted pastry chef who loved to bake for others. Amanda had a passion for the ocean, marine life and dolphins. She was a very free spirited person and loved her family.
In addition to her parents she is survived by a son, Riley Amir Shade; brother, Gavin Michael Swink; step-father, Melvin Ford and his son, Travis Ford; step-mother, Cindy Swink; step-brother, Anthony Martin; step-sister, Careta Martin; grandparents, Rassie Swink and Jane Swink, Margie Patton, Willard Patton and wife, Clara; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a niece.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Solid Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Stacey Layne officiating.
