Allen Wayne Garrison

Allen Wayne Garrison, 78 of Morganton, NC passed away, Thursday May 7, 2026. Born on July 2, 1947, he was the son of the late Hardy and Helen Garrison. Allen was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and was on the outreach team. He delivered Linda’s cakes and pies all over Morganton. Allen loved riding his John Deere mower. He proudly served in the US Army and was a Purple Heart recipient for his service in Vietnam. He was always planning the next family beach trip and always looking forward to his next meal. Allen faithfully made breakfast and packed lunches for Brian and Keith from elementary through high school.

Allen is survived by his sons, Brian Garrison (Laura) and Keith Garrison (Kimberly); brother, Dan Garrison (Joann); niece, Heather Garrison.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Garrison; sister, Sylvia Garrison.

A Celebration of Allen’s Life will be held at 1:30pm, Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Burkhart officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center, who so lovingly cared for him for 5 years.
