Alease H. Cline

Alease H. Cline, 80, of Valdese, NC, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023.

Born in Burke County, NC on November 8, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Clyde Houston and Flavie Mae Stillwell Houston.

Alease was a dedicated member of Laurel Haven Baptist Church. She was a loving mother to her son, was a loving sister, and was a caregiver to her mother. Alease helped her family and church whenever she was needed.

Miss Cline is survived by her son, Ricky Dean Cline; siblings, Rev. Ken Houston (Kay) and Clyde Thomas Houston, Jr. (Sharon); nephews, Kenny Houston (Patricia), Marc Houston (Andera), and Chad Houston (Megan); nieces, Lana Ramsey (Jesse), Sandy Gilliland (Terry), Paula Riddle (Bob), and Kim McCulley (Ateamus); and numerous great-nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Alease was preceded in death by her siblings, Louise Benfield, Gladys Brittain, and Irdene Stilwell; and nephew, Allen Holtsclaw.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
