Albert “Wade” Ogle, Jr.

Albert Wade Ogle, Jr was born to his loving parents, Rev. Albert Wade Ogle, Sr and Susan Page Ogle on July 17, 1984. “Wade” was already doing things his own way and on his own time. His birth certificate was already filled out for the 16th making for detailed changes on his first day of life.

Wade enjoyed playing sports growing up with his three beloved brothers: Alex Ogle (Jennifer), Sam Metcalf (Hannah), and Jeff Ogle (Grace). It is likely that sports played a big role in Wade’s sense of integrity and honorability, which he carried throughout his life. His coaches, including his father, helped instill values that shaped his loyal character.

Wade graduated from Appalachian State University in 2006 with a degree in Construction Management and Land Development. Wade loved cheering on his App State Mountaineers Football team while grilling his “Wade Burgers” and smoking ribs.

Wade married his wife Lori in 2011. His patience and quiet strong nature shined through as an asset with his stepsons, Brady Mull and Braxton Mull. Wade’s family bliss was complete when his son Albert Wade Ogle III “Tad” was born in 2013. Tad brought a shining light and softness into his world. Teaching the boys to be honorable and conduct themselves in a dutiful manner was paramount to Wade.

As a young family man, Wade and his brother Sam took a leap in starting Sure Point Builders Construction Company in 2012. Wade was hard working and the entrepreneurial spirit continued into development and design. Sure Point created the community of Tudor Croft in Black Mountain, NC. Wade’s designs and plans of homes tapped into the creative, almost magical, part of him. His passion for homes and home building was shared with his wife Lori, who worked with him on every project.

Throughout his career many of his family members worked with Sure Point Builders in some capacity. Wade cherished working with family and put family above all things

Wade was blessed with many nieces and nephews. Precious memories were made with Jamie (Dakota) Woods, Ashley Ogle, Carter Ogle, Greyson Fox, Santi Ogle, Cannon Metcalf, Nole Fox, Chloe Metcalf, and Ana Leigh Ogle. The holidays were loud and full of fun with all of them together.

Wade was a faithful servant of God and was eager to help. Love thy neighbor was something that Wade took to heart. He loved his neighbors whom he called friends. He also loved his church family at First United Methodist Church in Valdese and was deeply thankful for their love and support through his hardest times.

Wade was a proud man of high integrity that took life very seriously but was calm, and patient when it counted. For example, it took a steady hand when he was pulling, backing, and setting up his camper. That patience was tested during his 5 year journey with brain cancer. During this trying time, he displayed his determined nature.

Wade passed away on August 11, 2026 in his labor-of-love home. His legacy is his family, the over 100 homes that will stand longer than any of us, and in the countless lives and hearts that his genuine smile touched.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026 at First United Methodist Church in Valdese. A celebration of Wade’s life will follow at noon in the church with Rev. Dr. Bradley Hinton officiating.
