Agnes McKinnon’s soul went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 15th, 2025. She was born Brigid Agnes Sheridan in County Leitrim Ireland, the fourth of six children and lived there until she went to work in America. It was here that she met her beloved husband Michael McKinnon (RIP). She lived and worked in the Boston area before they both retired to North Carolina, first to Hendersonville and later to Grace Ridge Retirement Community in Morganton, which was to remain at her home until her passing. She lost her beloved Mike in 2008, but while at Grace Ridge, she made many friends and was so well looked after and cared for by the wonderful staff there. Agnes, along with her husband were long faithful parishioners of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Morganton. She never forgot her Irish roots and when she was able to travel, frequently returned to Ireland to visit her remaining family. She was a wonderful kind person and was much loved by her family.
She will be sadly missed by her brothers, sister-in-law and all her nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10am, Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I have fond memories of the times we shared, in person and via the phone, through the years. Your positive outlook and resilience were inspirational. Agnes may u rest in peace. Fond and loving memories of u from growing up together in Leitrim to your many visits home with ur beloved Michael. Remembering the lovely visit we both had with ye to your lovely home in North Carolina. We had such a lovely time. Visiting u both in Grace Ridge with Joan and Gretta , I will always remember it. All those memories will keep u in our hearts forever. RIp Agnes.

Very fond memories of Agnes and Mike coming to visit for their vacations in Ireland. I was always so excited to see them and glad we kept in touch over the years with our letters and cards. Rest In Peace Agnes All our love Nuala and Rachael and Conor
