Agnes "Aggie" Woodard, 86, of Gwaltney Road, Morganton, NC was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, September 18, 2009 at Grace Heights following a brief illness. Born on January 7, 1923 in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Woodard and Ella Ervin Woodard. Aggie was a member of Table Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church since 1972. She worked on her family farm and worked at Swan Ponds Dairy for several years. She raised several nieces and nephews and also loved animals.Aggie is survived by her sisters, Charlie Mae Poole and Emily Louise Woodard, both of Morganton; a brother, William Woodard, Sr. of Morganton; nephews, Charles Woodard, Howard Poole, Johnny Woodard, Kevin Woodard, Gary Rutherford, and Barry Rutherford; nieces, Nancy Poole, Kay Shade, Brenda Tugman, Diane Manning, and Barbara Conley; and a host of great-nephews and nieces; and great-great-nephews and nieces.Aggie was preceded in death by her brother, Troy Woodard; sisters, Laura Michaux and Margaret Crutchfield; a nephew, William Woodard, Jr.; and a niece, Karen Johnson.The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Elder William Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in Table Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
