Addie Hilemon Carswell

Addie Hilemon Carswell, 79, of Morganton, NC died Friday, March 25, 2016. Born in Yancey County on April 25, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Lesley Hilemon and Mary Jane Crain Hilemon.
Addie was a devoted wife and mother who showed her love for everyone she met. She retired from Henredon Furniture and was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church.
Mrs. Carswell is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Rassie Z. Carswell; children, Linda Diane Gibson, Faye Hoyle and husband, Robert, Rassie Daniel Carswell, Jr., and Billy Joe Carswell; and sister, Goldie Rector. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carswell was preceded in death by her sisters, Merzie McLean and Williski Carswell; brother, Mickie Hilemon; and granddaughter, Cindy Marie Chester.
The family will receive friends, Monday, March 28, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gamble, Rev. David Orders, and Rev. Steven Painter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
