Ada Nadean Whisnant, 93, of Morganton, NC passed away, Sunday, January 4, 2026. Born on August 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late J.P and Lula Miller.
Ada was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She retired from Shadowline and later worked at Grace Ridge. Ada loved to plant in her garden. She cared for and sat with numerous homebound elderly.
Ada is survived by her son, Darrell Whisnant; grandsons, Chuck Whisnant (Gretchen), Brandon Whisnant (Shanda), Darrell Whisnant Jr; granddaughters, Brandy Yelton, Amber Whisnant, Ashley Whisnant; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Whisnant; sons, Dennis Whisnant, Charles Dean Whisnant; siblings, Dewey, Jackson, Victor, Luther, Alwan, Paul, Susie, Minnie.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1pm, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Zion Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 1pm in the church with the Rev. Keith Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
