Fred Rusmisell

Fred Rusmisell, 89, of Morganton died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Grace Ridge Health Care Center. Born March 24, 1922 in Burke County, NC, he was a son of the late Newton Rusmisell and Espy Hoyle Rusmisell. Fred was a US Army veteran of World War II, and a retired employee of the North Carolina School for the Deaf with many years of dedicated service.He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jan Rusmisell of Tyrone, GA; five grandchildren, James, Jon, and Joy Rusmisell, Amy Harper, and Robert Eley; and five great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Stephens Rusmisell; two brothers; and three sisters.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Service with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour before the service at the funeral home.
