Glenda Sue Bentley, 71, of Piedmont, AL died Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Born in Burke County, NC on October 3, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Robert Tooms Buchanan and Dorothy Virginia Mashburn Buchanan. Glenda was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was affectionately known as “Mawmaw GinGin.” She enjoyed spending time with the “Golden Girls.”
Glenda is survived by a son, Darin Moody (Michelle); daughter, Kim Sanders; 7 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Tommy Buchanan (Susie); and sisters, Darlean Smith (Jim), Becky Beaver, and Patsy Powell.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Jean Buchanan.
Glenda will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home in Morganton, NC. The graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Dysartsville Baptist Church Cemetery in Nebo, NC with Rev. Pete McComb officiating.
