Muriel Elizabeth Wall Houck

Muriel Elizabeth Wall Houck, 89, of Morganton went to be with her Savior on Monday, September 23, 2019. Born in Burke County, NC on April 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Robert Terrell Wall and Bertha Bell Epley Wall. Muriel was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and Hartland Missionary Methodist Church.
Mrs. Houck is survived by her daughter, Sherry Houck Sellars and husband, Bill; son, Max Turner Houck and wife, Tracy; and grandchildren, Christopher Robert Sellars, Jay Cee Houck; and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Houck.
In addition to her parents, Muriel was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Houck; sisters, Mable Ross, Annie Bristol, Mary Beatrice "Toots" Ray, and Ruby Mulwee; and a brother, Robert Raymond Wall.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Danny Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
