Chuckie Wayne Mayfield

Chuckie Wayne Mayfield, 50, of Morganton, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
Born in Burke County, NC on April 4, 1972, he was the son of the late Frankie Steven Mayfield and Vivian Bunch Metcalf Mayfield. Chuckie was a great man who had a heart of gold. When he loved, he loved hard, and most of all he loved God. Anyone who met Chuckie was truly blessed. His smile could light up the world, his laughter was contagious, and he left his touch on many people. Mr. Mayfield enjoyed playing the guitar.
Chuckie is survived by his beloved daughter, Ashley Davis (Timothy), who he referred to as Chipmunk. “You will forever be missed daddy, gone but not forgotten. Its never a goodbye, I’ll see you later gator.” Timothy notes “I love you a bunch dad-in-law. You were a wonderful man, I have many memories to cherish.” Chuckie is also survived by a brother, Johnny Mayfield (Elizabeth); sisters, Amanda Mayfield Frazier and Rosemary Mayfield; half-brothers, David Jerome Mayfield and Jason Paul Mayfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4pm until 8pm, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Catawba River Greenway, 128 Greenlee Ford Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
