Roy "Toucho" Boyce Burleson, 62, of Fernwood Dr., Morganton, NC went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. He was born October 14, 1943 in McDowell County, NC, and was a son of the late Clayton Burleson and Alma Lindsay Burleson Franklin. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran and a retired truck driver. Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morganton.

He is survived by former wife, Phyllis Webb Burleson and their two daughters, Lisa Micol and her husband, John, of Durham, NC, and Julie Collins of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Kyndyl Collins, Kaitlyn Micol, and Spencer Micol; brothers, Clayton F. Burleson and wife, Ruth, and Lloyd E. Burleson; sisters, Lois Marlowe and husband, Jack, and Melba Bartlette; his extended family and companion, Melinda Farr of the home; and her children, Stacie Farr and Shane Farr; and special friends, Jimmy and Debbie Smith. Over the years, he has held many special relationships and the family would like to thank all of those who touched his and their lives. During his final days it was important to him that everyone be acknowledged for touching his heart and loving him.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm., Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. and Rev. Carl Roland officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered for First Baptist Church at P.O Drawer 459, Morganton, NC 28680-0459.
