Rama Grace Willis Piercy, 79 of Glen Alpine entered her Heavenly home while surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Born in Burke County on March 23rd 1938, she was a daughter of the late John Ambrose Willis and Pauline Mamie Hutchins. Rama was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She attended Morganton High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Howard William Piercy; a son, Robert Byron Piercy; and a grandson, Michael Cain Piercy.

Those left to cherish her memory include

Son, William “Bill' Piercy and wife, Debra, of Morganton; daughter, Susan Abernathy and Tim Clontz of Glen Alpine; daughter-in-law, Terri Piercy; grandchildren, Michelle Arney, Byron Piercy, Mark Abernathy and fiancée Heather, Amanda Piercy, William Piercy, Jr. and wife, Leslie, and Kelsey Clontz and fiancée, Heather Woodruff; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Hailee, Jayden, Jasmine, Jacob, Gavin, Cole, Alexis, Catelyn, Colton and Hailey; brother, John 'Everett' Willis and wife, Burla, of Gamewell; sister, Jackie Webb and husband, Bruce, of Glen Alpine; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many others who loved her.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Glen Alpine Cemetery with Pastor Phillip McCall officiating.

Nanny's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. The spirit never dies. Although we will always feel your loss, this is not goodbye but only until we meet again. Fly high with the angels Nanny, you have earned your wings.
