Michael Dallas Winters

Michael Dallas Winters, 55, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He was born in Burke County, NC on April 10, 1961, and was the son of Wilma Hoover Winters and the late Glen Alfred Winters. Michael was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. Michael was retired from the City of Morganton where he worked as a lineman for 25 plus years. He loved nature and being outdoors for any reason, but especially loved watching his children participate in sports, and cherished any time he could spend with them or his grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Rebecca Hood Winters.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Brandi Winters and husband, Chao Lee; son, Dallas Winters and wife, Elizabeth of Angier, NC; granddaughters, Jade Lee and Lillian Lee; grandsons, Christian Lee and Nathan Lee; brothers, Glenn Winters and wife, Renee and David Winters and wife, Geraldine; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at El Bethel Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Ron Cooper officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
