Melvin Shub Huffman, 82, of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Born in Burke County on April 26, 1935, he was a son of the late Shub Logan Huffman and Hester Mae Butler Huffman. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Dyson Huffman; sisters, Alice Hayes, Dorothy Haynes, and Elsie Huffman; and brothers, Clyde, Glen, and Cecil Huffman.
Mr. Huffman is survived by children, Bruce Huffman and wife, Laura of Morganton, Tammy Fowler and husband, Klaus of Morganton, Joel Huffman and wife, Brandy of Lenoir, and Kristin Huffman of Hickory; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Pauline Roper.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 23 at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Lane and Rev. Steve Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
