Maledia Robinson Butler, 85, of Grace Heights in Morganton died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at her residence. She was born May 19, 1924 in Burke County, and was the daughter of the late William Jeff Robinson and Grace Bumgarner Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Vernon Butler, Sr. Maledia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rutherford College, and a retired employee of Alba-Waldensian.She is survived by sons, David Olin Butler and wife, Elaine of Rutherford College, and Jack Vernon Butler, Jr. and wife, Connie of Fairfield Glade, TN; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.Graveside services will be held at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Sossoman Funeral Home.
