Kenneth Simmons, 70, of Morganton, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 11, 2022. Born on May 3, 1952 in Utah, he was the son of the late Willard Leroy Simmons and Retha Mayes Simmons. Kenneth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He retired from the North Carolina School for the Deaf with thirty years of service as a dormitory supervisor and painter in the maintenance department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lawanna Funk, Vivian Whitehead and Vandella Fleming.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Donna Robin Work Simmons; children, Jennifer Redwine (Dean) and Jeffrey Simmons (Erica) both of Morganton; grandchildren, Kaylee, Allison and Kara Redwine and Aubrey and Ella Simmons; brothers and sisters, Clarence Simmons, Warren Simmons, Lucille Sewell and Freeda Falk.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Friday, July 15, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be from 10:00am-11:00am on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
