Joy had a heart of gold and loved BIG, she would help anyone or any animal she could. She was quite a unique force of nature and will be missed beyond measure by all creatures big and small whoever had the pleasure to know her.

I had the pleasure of meeting Joy at the Brian Center in Spruce Pine when I took a nursing position there. We became friends and kept in touch. I immediately was drawn to her. She had a good soul. I am sorry things were so hard but now I hope you are free from the pains and hell we have to endure here. I hope to see you one day again. Love, Bobbie

Joy and I had a unique relationship, but as I’ve grown older, I learned how incredibly talented she was and I am so thankful I was able make amends and to tell her how much she truly meant to me and my mom. I know that my mom and Joy are having the time of their life in the after life. I’ll always remember our late night karaoke, the laughs, the crafts and her ability to bring JOY no matter where she went. Truly a special lady who will always hold a special place in my heart. I am praying for her kiddos, grand kiddos and everyone who cared about her. My deepest condolences, you all are loved so much. May she rest in eternal peace and comfort. Godspeed.
