Jean Lingafeldt, 82, of Grace Heights in Morganton, died Monday, December 25, 2006 at the nursing home following a period of declining health. She was born September 5, 1924 in Norristown, PA, and was a daughter of the late Charles Joseph Wood and Mullie Hoffman Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Lingafeldt, Sr.; her twin sister, Betty Smith; and a brother, Eddie Wood. Jean enjoyed sewing and knitting. She loved people and greeted visitors to Grace Heights.
She is survived by a son, John P. Lingafeldt, Jr. and wife, Reba, of Marion, NC; a daughter, Emma Jean Shattuck of Yadkinville, NC; four granddaughters; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, December 28, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Buckner officiating. Burial will follow at Calvin Heights Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour before the service at the funeral home.
