Herman Byers “Tom” Williams

Herman Byers “Tom” Williams, 71, of Morganton passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020.  Born in Burke County, NC on May 2, 1948, he was the son of the late James Clifton Williams and Sarah Byers Williams.  Tom was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.  He owned Tom Williams Painting and Wall Covering and was a caregiver to his mother and sister.

Tom is survived by his son, Jay Williams (April) of Lenoir; daughter, Jill Williams and Angela Burgess of Taylorsville, NC; grandchildren, Bailey Smith (Kelly), Hannah Williams, and Eli Williams; a great-granddaughter, Adaline Hart; and beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Williams, and a sister, Barbara Crabtree.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
