Georgia “Doo-dad” Anderson Cowan

Georgia “Doo-dad” Anderson Cowan, 74, of Morganton died Monday, March 25, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on July 22, 1944, she was the daughter of the late George Carl Anderson and Nita Raye Queen Anderson.  Georgia was a dedicated member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church.   She was a loving Mother, ‘Nana’, and friend.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.  She was and will always be an inspiration.

Georgia is survived by her daughters, Paula Anderson Ford (Dean Beck) and Pam Cowan McLellan (Bryan); grandchildren, Ali Ford, Jake Ford, Brodie Ford, and Blaze Cowan; sister, Linda Daves (Robert); niece, Mandie Looney; and nephew, Rob Daves.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Walter Cowan; and sister, Connie Bowers.

The memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2019 at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Cris Uren officiating.  The family will greet friends at the church following the service.
